Egy hely Budapesten / Svábhegy, zugligeti libegő // A place in Budapest / Svábhegy, Zugliget ski-lift

Since Dani and I have been together we’ve been many places in Budapest. Restaurants, buildings, parks or a simple spot somewhere in the city which we really liked. We have also a few very meaningful place around our neighborhood. I’ve always wanted to document these places, with my clumsy photos and words, so that someday we can look at them as in an album and remember how we liked to be there. So now I start this project as well, and I am reall excited. Whenever I am abroad, the best way to get known a city is to walk around with someone local, so I can see the place with his eyes. It is much more fun to eat in a small restaurant where all the locals go, or wander in a hidden park, than walk on the crowded shopping street. I hope that this post will be a helpful local guide to get known Budapest better. Half of the attractions are never in a tourist book, as they require more time and closeness than a few-days trip.

The first place is the Szamos Beautiful View Confectionery, where we celebrated Dani’s birthday last october. We wanted to have breakfest on a weekend a long time ago, so this was the perfect occasion. There is nothing better, than wake up, and when you are already hungry, the breakfast is just there. (Ohh bed&breakfast, I love you so mutch!) I was already 5 month pregnant here, so after feeling rather sick, eating was again a big issue for me.There was nobody at the confectionery at 10 am. We drank freshly squeezed orange juice, and after that I had a nice coffe, and Dani had tea.The small buttery croissant is just perfect. The place has a homey and elegant atmosphere at the same time, we liked it very mutch. It was a beautiful sunny autumn morning, the weather which we admire the most. After breakfast, we walked to Normafa and from there to the ski-lift down to Zugliget. Exactly a year after, in october 2015, one of my girlfriend was coming up with the lift. She wasn’t alone as well.

These are our unedited photos, and the wedding photo was taken by Mészáros Péter.

A sign of spring

I am so excited about our narcissus and tulip bulbs! I planted them early december, which was a little late actually. It is better to plant in september, or early october. But as they were wrapped in old newspaper and put in a drawer outside, I had forgotten about them, and some of them already had some tiny yellowish shoot. I found this on pinterest, and planted them in a container. Now they look like this:

My experience of skiing

sielos vezerfoto

Whenever I go skiing I come home super relaxed and happy. There is nothing more refreshing for me, than a few days of skiing (in total sunshine.)This year it was extra relaxing, as my in-laws joined in to help baby-sitting our one year old daughter. With a baby, a 4 day skiing with day-care is heaven!

I am shure, that those of you who ski are familiar with this feeling. But those who are not, still experience the extra energy you regain by any sports you practice. There is a special thing between me and skiing, that I’d like to share with you.

Though I am not doing sport daily, and I have learnt skiing when I was 20, sliding down the slope gives me a great sense of achivement and confidence. Don’t get me wrong, this does not make me a good skier, but I figured, I must have the talent for it, as I enjoy every minute out there. Because of this, I can happly push myself to try to be better and better every time, and I spend one day with skiing until I reach the very end of my phisical limit. I only experience shuch a strong willpower when I ski. No other sport gives me such freedom. Also, being out there, on a mountainpeak, in the snow, under the sun, where human body would definitely die without proper clothing, makes me feel extra strong.

It is great to know, I have so much extra energy left, so from now on, I try to recall this attitude in my daily life, whenever I feel uninspired. Do you have any sport where you experience a similar enthusiasm?Or any other activity?

P.S. I dedicate this post to my very first follower, Angie Seggara, a great friend who’s support was always life-saving.
